What you agree to when you buy a ticket or run an event through Tik Chik.

Tik Chik is the ticketing platform at tik-chik.com, operated by Tik Chik LLC ("we"). Organizers are the organizations that create events here - cotillions, schools, charities, and the groups selling on their behalf. Buyers are people who buy tickets or make gifts.
The organizer is the seller. When you buy a ticket, your contract for the event - the date, the venue, what is served, whether it goes ahead - is with the organizer, not with us. We provide the ticketing software, take payment on the organizer's behalf, and deliver the ticket.
Card payments are processed by Stripe. For most events the charge is made directly to the organizer's own Stripe account, and the organizer's name may appear on your card statement. Our service fee - $1.00 per ticket - and Stripe's card processing fee are shown separately at checkout and added to the ticket price, so the organizer receives the full face value. Gifts carry no service fee.
Prices are in US dollars. You authorize the total shown at checkout. Seats are held for ten minutes while you pay; if payment does not complete in that time the seats are released and nothing is charged.
A ticket is a link to a page on your phone that shows a code which changes every 30 seconds. A screenshot or printout of the code will not admit anyone. Each attendee, including a +1, has their own ticket and their own code. The first scan of a ticket admits its holder; later scans of the same ticket are refused.
Tickets are for the named attendee. You may forward a ticket link to the person it is for. The organizer may refuse admission where a ticket has been resold, altered, or is presented by someone other than the named attendee, and may set their own conditions of entry (age, dress, conduct).
Refunds are the organizer's decision, under their own policy - see Refunds. If an organizer cancels an event through Tik Chik, every paid order is refunded in full automatically. If an event is postponed, tickets remain valid for the new date unless the organizer says otherwise.
A gift made through Tik Chik goes to the organizer's host organization. Whether it is tax-deductible depends on that organization's status, which we check against the IRS exempt-organizations file but do not guarantee. Any tax receipt is issued by the organizer, in their name and under their EIN; Tik Chik prepares it but is not the recipient of the gift.
If you run an event here you are responsible for: the accuracy of your event page, honouring the tickets you sell, your refund policy, complying with the law where the event takes place, and completing Stripe's onboarding, which is a condition of selling. You may not use Tik Chik to sell anything Stripe's terms prohibit. You are responsible for the people you add to your organization and what they do with their access. Sales tax, if any, is your obligation as the seller.
We may suspend an event or an organization that we reasonably believe is fraudulent, is selling tickets to an event that will not take place, or has attracted repeated chargebacks. We will tell you why.
Do not attempt to buy more seats than an allocation permits, to forge or replay a ticket code, to access another organization's data, or to interfere with the service. We log door scans, sign-ins, and payments, and we will cooperate with an organizer or law enforcement investigating misuse.
We provide the software as it is. We are not the organizer, and we are not liable for the event itself - its quality, its cancellation, or anything that happens there. Where we are liable to you, our liability is limited to the fees we received on your order. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
