Who decides, how long it takes, and what happens if an event is cancelled.

Tickets are sold by the organizer, and refund requests go to them. Their contact details are on the event page and in your ticket email. Many organizers refund freely up to a cutoff before the event and not after, because the venue and caterer have been paid by then; some do not refund at all. Ask before you buy if it matters.
Tik Chik cannot refund a ticket on the organizer's behalf. What we do is make it easy for them: an organizer can refund an order, or part of one, in two clicks, and you are emailed when they do.
The money goes back to the card you paid with. Stripe issues it immediately; your bank typically shows it within five to ten business days. Refunded tickets stop working at the door the moment the refund is made.
The organizer may refund the full amount you paid, including our service fee and card processing. Card processing fees are not returned to the organizer by Stripe, so some organizers refund the ticket price only. The refund email tells you the exact amount.
If an organizer cancels an event through Tik Chik, every paid order is refunded in full, automatically, and every buyer is emailed. There is nothing you need to do. If an event is postponed rather than cancelled, your tickets stay valid for the new date; contact the organizer if you cannot make it.
A gift is a donation to the organizer's organization and is generally not refundable, though an organizer may choose to refund one. If a gift was made in error - the wrong amount, or a duplicate - contact the organizer promptly.
Please contact the organizer before disputing a charge with your card issuer. A chargeback suspends the tickets on that order until it is resolved, and costs the organizer - usually a volunteer-run nonprofit - a dispute fee whether or not they win. If you cannot reach the organizer, email hello@tik-chik.com and we will help.
